A modern and chic decor sees bold red Scandinavian inspired chairs lining a communal center table.
Mixed textures and surfaces warm the bright natural light beaming in from the front-to-back glass
exterior with wood, felt and cork detailing. A whimsical painted mural on a back wall adds
personality and leads you out to the sunny wrap-around wood slat patio.
A smart layout that gives you the choice of friendly side-by-side seating or the more intimate two
person booths that border the room.
Open for three servings..Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.. a hearty selection of baked goods, morning
staples and fresh salads round out modern takes on the ever-popular panini. Of course, being a cafe,
the fire-engine red espresso machine greets you at the door and offers up your cup of daily fuel.
On my first visit I ordered the ‘Commune’ salad, the Lemon/orange cheesecake and one of their
organic juices. While I found the salad a tad small for a $9 lunch item, it was fresh and flavourful
and left room for the dessert that was as moist and rich as cheesecake should be.
As a cafe, the energy in the room was vibrant yet quiet and a place I could spend some time in with a
coffee and my laptop.
I will return, as I expect this to be new the meeting place of choice and the eclectic blackboard
menus should provide some variety to the stale state of Yaletown’s coffee spots.
Commune Cafe
Open 7am - late.

So glad this is finally open! I walked by it weeks ago when it was still under construction and was happy to see such a cool place! Reminds me of the one in NYC…..can’t wait to try!
